Barely a week after Harvey pummeled the Texas coastline, the atmosphere is back at it again. If it makes landfall here, Hurricane Irma could impact the Southeast part of the United States — and strongly.

Here are the latest statements from our Gulf Coast schools, to be updated continually.

University of Central Florida

No closures yet — but the path of Irma is being closely monitored.

University of Miami

Closed for the rest of the week.

Miami-Dade College

Closed through Sunday.

Savannah College of Art and Design

SCAD, nestled on the coastline of Georgia, is cancelling classes as a preventative measure for the next week.

University of Florida

UF is keeping an eye on the storm, and is posting updates to its website.

Florida State University

Florida State — in Tallahassee — is still fully operational at this time, but that could change.

Savannah State University

SSU recommends students to follow along with credible news outlets, but hasn’t seemed to cancel classes yet.

Bethune-Cookman University

Bethune-Cookman, a historically black college in Daytona Beach, has issued a mandatory evacuation of campus. Students are recommended to evacuate the city and secure their belongings.

Florida Atlantic University

Florida Atlantic, which is in southeastern Florida, is closing campuses until Sunday, Sept. 10, effective tomorrow.
