Brittany Pattakos and Dr. Paul Nassif’s wedding is fast approaching and the bride-to-be is getting herself into tip-top shape.
The “Botched” doctor, 56, proposed to Pattakos, 28, in June and she revealed via Instagram earlier this month that their big day is scheduled to take place in just three months.
“We have a wedding planner, so she’s helping me with all the details and helping me organize it,” Pattakos recently told Page Six. “But I have Pinterest ideas so I send her ideas and then she runs with it and gives me the approval. It’s gonna be crazy, the next three months. But it’s a very low-key wedding too. Close friends and family are going.”
Now, the medical assistant is most focused on being in “the best shape [she] can because of [her] wedding dress.”
“I’ve been actually pretty in shape all for a while now,” she said. “It actually took me about five years to actually to get motivated to want to work out, cause I grew up skinny most of my life … so there are times where if I really wanna get toned around summertime and I wanna wear a swimsuit, there’s certain workout routines that I do so that I can get more definition — abs and more muscles showing. But that’s the goal, and it usually takes about three months for that process to happen.”
Pattakos changes her workouts daily — and without a trainer. Some days she focuses on her back and biceps and other days focuses on her chest. But she works on her abs every day, saying: “That’s the only way I can get a six-pack!”
“The thing is, you hate it, but you just have to suck it up, cause you start building that muscle and eventually your body starts getting used to it,” she said. “When I first started working out, they’re like, ‘Oh do like 50 crunches.’ I was like, ’50 crunches? I can’t do 50 crunches! Are you crazy?’ Cause it was so sore, it was painful and miserable. But I just kinda suck it up and I get it slowly, day by day, and your body gets used to doing those certain muscles. Like now, I’m really good at doing arms, but before I was good at doing legs, so when I do legs it’s like torturous for me. But my body’s getting used to it.”
Pattakos explained when she wants to get toned she also increases her protein intake and eats clean “which is obviously like plain chicken … a lot of people like to put pepper, seasoning, all this stuff on top of it, but I like to eat it clean with [brown] rice.”
“It’s very hard for me to get away from steak, as much as everyone’s like, ‘Don’t eat steak!’” she said with a laugh. “I love steak. There’s no way I could get away from steak. I just try having more chicken than anything. And then I have a Quest protein bar.”
She noted that her favorite flavor is Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, but she’s “not really a dessert fan.” Instead, her go-to cheat meal is pizza.
While Nassif doesn’t typically work out with Pattakos — his trainer works with him at 6 a.m. while she’s sleeping — his products are a staple in her beauty routine.
“I have been using Paul’s Detox Pads,” she said. “That’s the only thing I use for cleaning my face every day, especially before I go to bed and after the gym. It’s so good for acne, you have no idea. I use it so that my face doesn’t break out.”
She’s also doing “a lot of facial treatments” like hydrafacials.
“I get acne very bad and so, you’re sweating at the gym — I just left Equinox, there’s a lot of people wearing makeup and I can’t imagine doing that cause your pores get filled up too much with makeup and that’s how you break out with acne,” she explained.
And as for tips for fellow brides-to-be, Pattakos told us, “Don’t let your family stress you out about your wedding. This day is about two people, it’s not about everybody else, so that’s why Paul and I, we focus on us. Cause this is for us, it’s something meaningful for us. We just try forgetting about everybody else and focusing on ourselves … What else? Taking care of yourself and even after the wedding, you should always take care of yourself.”
